Analyzing and Understanding the Educational and Economic Impact of Regional Career Pathways 

Project description: This project aims to conduct an evaluation of Tennessee Pathways (along with earlier career pathway programs), a state initiative to align K-12 education, postsecondary education, and employers so that high school students have a clear pathway to move into the workforce.

An Exploration of Interdisciplinary Teaming Practices and Student Outcomes in Wall-to-Wall Career Academies 

Project description: The purpose of the proposed research is to investigate wall-to-wall career academies and the associations between interdisciplinary teacher teaming practices and positive outcomes for students in career and technical education pathways.

Collaborative Research: Assessing Mathematical Sensemaking in Science (AMaSS)

Project description: The objectives of this project are to create a suite of Automated Analysis of Constructed Response items to assess MaSS across undergraduate biology, chemistry, and physics that can be used to provide real-time feedback about student MaSS to instructors.

In Her Footsteps: Transforming Culture and Civic Dialogue in a Historic Tennessee Community

Project description: The objective of this project is to create an interactive county-wide interpretive trail that will give participants a better understanding of how women shaped political, economic, and cultural conditions in a historic Tennessee community.

Deeper Learning Professional Development for High School Agriculture Teachers

Project description: The goal of this project is to develop a 2-year deeper learning institute that will bring high school agriculture teachers together in a focused community of practice to receive training in the selected deeper learning instructional and assessment practices.

Project description: The purpose of this project is to explore the economic viability of sustainable dairy and vegetable food production systems while delivering training to producers in support of an occupationally and environmentally safe operation.

Project description: This project investigates causes and mitigation strategies of farm and ranch stress through research and outreach efforts across the Southern Region of the United States.

A Geographic, Longitudinal, Demographic Analysis of STEM Teacher Quality Indicators

Project description: This project aims to perform an up-to-date, cross-sectional, and longitudinal analysis of national trends in STEM teacher persistence and effectiveness at the high school level before and during the timeframe of several prominent teacher recruitment initiatives.

Project description: The purpose of this project is to develop a survey examining the knowledge and use of DBDM among a nationally representative sample of teachers.
